At sunset on December 10, 2005 Matt asked me to marry him. We had planned to have a "Christmas" date that night. I am currently in the middle of finals at school and was a little annoyed when matt asked me to be ready by 3:45 in the afternoon. He told me we had dinner reservations at 6pm. I said "you are ridiculous" for making me get ready so early. We started the long drive from Pasadena to Newport beach, the entire way I complained about the distance, the traffic, and the time. Sweet Matt just put up with me and did an excellent job at throwing me off. We arrived in Newport at 5pm and I said, "See we are here so early" he said lets go to the beach and watch the sunset. I said, "I'm not wearing the right shoes." Needless to say we made it to the beach (the beach that has held special memories and significance for us during our relationship).  As soon as I got out of the car, matt blindfolded me. I began to cry and he lead to down a long steep road to the sand and when he took off the blindfold there was tiki torches lit and a blanket covered with rose pedals, Matt guided me to the blanket and got down on one knee. We both cried. I said yes before he could
even finish talking and the rest is history. We are so happy. Afterwards we walked back up the hill and some of my favorite people and closest friends were there to celebrate with us. We had dinner together and went to my favorite place to look at Christmas lights. It was perfect.
